EnglandDunstable - Bedford - Grafham - Corby - Nottingham - Sherwood - Tuxford: Vacation Day 05/17

My bed wasn't as comfortable as yesterday (Toyota Aygo beats Peugeot 308), still it was better than nothing. Nada and me visited another McDonald's and we had the same menu as yesterday, surfer's special, that consist of Free Internet and Cheapest ice-cream. There we decided what we will visit today.

Surfer's special menu in McDonald's

Country near Ampthill in Bedfordshire

In Bedford we visited tourist information centre and they gave us some additional clues what to do. So far we discovered that almost nothing is free in England, you have to pay basically for everything and you can really see that the word "PRIVATE" was invented here. Not free, but still cheap, was the Jordans Mill, so we decided to spend some time there.

One of the cheapest entrance fees in England

Nice introduction for the mill on their internet site: "This historic Mill, home to the Jordan family for over 150 years, was revolutionary for its time and could be compared with the dawn of the internet age today." Click for more.

W. H. Allen Sons & Company Limited diesel engine was installed besides the water powered engine

Goodbye Jordans Mill
We continued towards North and on the way we stopped in some nice places.

All Saints Church in Ellington

House in Rockingham

Rockingham Castle. Admission 9.5£ for closer look. We skipped it.

Main street in Rockingham

Parking fee for half an hour in Nottinhgham

The Nottingham Castle gstehouse and main entrance to the public

Walk around the castle and a lot of additional photos of caves, castle, one of the oldest pubs in England (Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, 1189 AD), ...

We continue to Sherwood Forest, a royal forest in Nottinghamshire

Robin Hood used to steal from the rich in this forest

Successfully passed the Outlaw Challenge

We wanted to camp in Clumber Park, but it was closed so we moved on towards West

We were lucky with the 2nd campsite. Orchard Park is situated in a quiet unspoilt location on the outskirts of the old market town of Tuxford.

Hot shower and a very nice place for camping

Sunset from our place

2nd day with a car from Dunstable to Tuxford
