Slovenia: Kamnek, Veliki vrh, Kal, Dovžan Gorge

Aleš had a birthday yesterday, so he invited us for Sunday lunch. We decided to spice things up a little, so we went on a nice hike, starting from Tržič, 516 m, to our first peak Kamnek, 873 m. Pirmance ridge took us further to Veliki vrh above Završnik, 968 m. We continued to the highest point of the day, Zavetišče na Kalu, 1112 m, where we had a nice snack on the Sun. We descended to Dolina and through Dovžan Gorge we returned back to Tržič.

We followed the local stream Kališnik that joins Tržič Bistrica.

It's almost April 1st, so the path is almost open.

Scenery in Dovžan Gorge, protected as a natural monument in 1988 due to its status as a unique site of plant and animal fossils in rocks from the Paleozoic.

The picturesque gorge was formed by the Tržič Bistrica River cutting through various conglomerates, limestones, sandstones, and clays. The gorge contains the largest series of barrier waterfalls in Slovenia, formed from quartz conglomerate.

We finished the hike back in Tržič.

Slovenia: Backcountry Skiing - Veliki vrh

Veliki vrh is a nearby peak and I've been on the top for many times, but I never skied from it. Today I decided to do that too. Nada and me started with a little bit of hiking, but when the snow layer was continuous, I put my skis on. We passed by Dom na Kofcah mountain hut and soon we reached a point called "Cross". This was a point, where Nada turned around and I continued to Kofce gora. The terrain wasn't easy, so I had to put on my crampons. As soon as I arrived to the Košuta ridge, the fog showed up, but I just continued to the summit of Veliki vrh, where I took 2 pictures of the fog and bad visibility conditions and then I slowly started skiing down. The fog disappeared and put a smile on my face. Easy skiing soon ended and after a little bit of walking I was reunited with Nada. We finished the day with an awesome burger from Karavla 297.

Slovenia: Paragliding School

I continued with my 6th and 7th flight in Niceclouds school. First we hiked to the take off site in Gozd and glided to Senično. On our 2nd attempt we simply drove to the top.

Slovenia: Hike & Fly - Zaplata

Rok invited Andraž and me to another hike & fly session. This time we started in Mače towards Zaplata. A good hour and we were at the take off site. Rok and me switched our gliders, so he tested my Tenor and I tested his Viola. We all landed in Preddvor, near the lake.
