Georgia: Skiing in Gudauri: Day 6

We woke up in a foggy morning, still some of us decided to go skiing. After a little more than 2 hours we gave up and returned back to our rooms. Time for extra activities began, Georgian wine and brandy, dinner by Slatnar and playing cards for the whole evening.

Previous days of our Georgia trip: Day 5Day 4Day 3Day 2 and Day 1.

Foggy day wasn't good for skiing, so our legs received a vacation time

For every 100 points we had to drink a brandy. Slatnar cooked another great pasta.

Enka (like Uno) entertained us for the whole evening

Georgia: Skiing in Gudauri: Day 4

We woke up in another awesome day for skiing. Let photos from Gudauri speak for themselves.

Few facts from the ski resort:
Gudauri has 57 km of ski runs and 7 lifts. The bottom station of first ski lift called Pirveli is at 1,990 m above sea level and the top station of the last ski lift is at 3,279 m, called Sadzele. The lifts work from 10:00 to 16:00, and from 9:00 to 17:00 in the later season when the day light is longer. Few things you can also do here are: heliski, ski touring, speed riding and paragliding.

Georgia: Skiing in Gudauri: Day 3

Our first skiing day in Gudauri was finally here. We rented the equipment and the adventures on snow began. Fog in the valley didn't bother us, since we had a clear sky in the upper parts.

Georgia: From Kutaisi to Gudauri: Day 2

After a couple of hours on the plane we landed in Kutaisi, in the legislative capital of Georgia. Bus driver picked us up and we were soon on the road past the capital Tbilisi to our destination Gudauri, where the chauffeur found our apartment and dropped us off. We settled in the bar and waited for the owner to show us our 2 rooms. Soon we returned back to the bar, where we started to learn Georgian language, with 3.7 million native speakers and its own writing system, the Georgian script.

Soon the beer stock depleted and after we asked the bartender, what he will do about it and his answer was "Not my problem!" we just switched to chacha.

Previous days of our Georgia trip: Day 1.

On the road halfway to Tbilisi. Most of the vehicles have damaged windscreens.

Arrived to Gudauri

I guess we will have enough snow for skiing the next days

Slovenia / Hungary: Traveling to Georgia: Day 1

A group of skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts gathered a while ago many times and agreed that it is time to smell the snow in Gudauri, Georgia. Nada, Boris, Baki, Mrki, Slatnar, Opl, Gic and Tuši were the crew of this adventure. Our schedule for the first day was to drive from Slovenia to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, where we boarded the plane to Kutaisi, Georgia. Boris did a great job and we all arrived safely and thirstless to our destination of the first day.

SloveniaBlood plasma and Geocaching with Kick Scooter

After work I donated some blood plasma, cca half a litre. Plasmapheresis is the removal, treatment, and return or exchange of blood plasma or components thereof from and to the blood circulation. It is thus an extracorporeal therapy. After I was finished I had to meet Nada, so I used my kick scooter to get there and on my way I picked up some geocaches.

After I gave some blood I found some geocaches. Only one egg contained a logbook in this case.

Slovenia: Direktna and Centralna ravine in Begunjščica in the Morning

In the morning Lovro and me woke up early and started our hike towards the entrance of Direktna ravine (IV-/II-III, 300 m) in Begunjščica. Filled with snow it was easy to climb and a little past 8 o'clock in the morning we were standing on top of the mountain. We put on our skis and rushed down through Central ravine (III+, S4) to our work place.

We woke up before the Sun came out

Slovenia: Skiing in Central Ravine in Begunjščica

There is plenty of snow in Slovenia and since many ravines are totally covered with it, I decided to ski one of them. For the first time I chose Central Ravine (III+, S4) in Begunjščica and it was much easier than I thought it would be. We finished the day in Dom na Zelenici mountain hut, testing the new skilift.

If you want to go down, you have to go up first

Place is very popular
