Slovenia: Cycling with GeoCaching around Bela krajina (White Carniola), Day 2

There was still a lot to see in Bela krajina, so Nada and me spent another day on bicycles.

Our first stop, where we also find our first GeoCache, was Krašnji vrh

Border crossing Slovenia - Croatia. Unless you have a special pass, you can not cross the border. Actually you can, just the authorities shouldn't see you.

One of the nicest springs I have ever been to

Obrh stream originates below the walls of the old town Metlika and is the source of drinking water in Metlika County.

Near Semič we found another GeoCache. The steps lead into the karst cave called Lebica.

On the way home we visited the monument, dedicated to the events that took place here on June 27th 1991. At 00.46 a convoy of armoured vehicles of the Yugoslav national Army was blocked here by the diversant commando unit of the 21st district headquaters of the Slovenial Territorial defence forces. At 03.15 the first shot in the Slovenian war for independence was shot here.

There was still a lot of time before the football match, so we walked a bit around Park Tivoli, Ljubljana and 3 more caches were logged.

Cekin Mansion and a cache near Tivolski vrh

Ant then the evening came and time for the final match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup between Germany and Argentina.  Germany defeated Argentina 1-0 in extra time, with the only goal being scored by Mario Götze, who collected André Schürrle's cross from the left on his chest before volleying a high left-footed shot into the net.
