Croatia: Summer Vacation, Day 14: Olive gardens of Lun

The olive groves of Lun are located in the north of the Pag island. These groves represent the most intact and exotic piece of the Mediterranean for centuries now. Wild olive trees symbolize the spite towards the bora wind, the rock and the human. We explored the area with more than 1500 years old trees.

Previous days of our Summer Vacation 2024: Day 13 - 16218, Day 12 - 16217, Day 11 - 16216, Day 10 - 16215, Day 9 - 16214, Day 8 - 16213, Day 7 - 16212, Day 6 - 16211, Day 5 - 16210,  Day 4 - 16209, Day 3 - 16208, Day 2 - 16207 and Day 1 - 16206.

These trees have testified arrival of the Romans, then came the Croats who mixed with the natives. Trees have seen wars and armies…. and trees resisted everything through test of time. Only danger is fire.

Confirmed results of conducted research gave us the answer: oldest olive trees in Olive gardens of Lun are 2000 and 1600 years old.

In Tovarnele we had a break for ice cream.
