Slovenia: Srednja peč and Srednji vrh

Beautiful day, sunny Sunday. Nada and me decided to visit the mountains again. For today, we chose a nearby peak, where we have never been before, and that was Srednja peč, 1920 m. The majority of the locals don't know it, and there is also no marked way all the way to the top. It lies between Stol, Vrtača and from the top, you can admire the nearby peaks.

First part took us from Ljubelj to Dom na Zelenici mountain hut, 1536 m.

When we were below Vrtača, our destination, Srednja peč, became visible to us.

Srednja peč with the highest peak of the Karawanks behind it.

With the air support.

Towards the cirque called "V Kožnah".

Cirque V Kožnah with Vrtača.

Srednja peč and the ridge, where the unmarked way leads you to its peak.

Posing on the saddle.

Nada and Srednja peč.

The last part before the summit.

Panorama from Stol over Celovška špica and Svačica to Vrtača.

Vrtača and Srednji vrh with Begunjščica behind it. Further away is the start of the Košuta ridge.

There is an inscription book on top of the mountain since year 2000 and it still has a lot of space to sign in. As I counted, approximately 50 people sign in per year.

Tuši and Nada.

Clear sky and great mountains.

Svačica and Vrtača.

Time to rest.

Ljubljana Basin and Jelovica on the South.

Goodbye Srednja peč.

Our mountains are just gorgeous.

On my way back I also visited Srednji vrh.

Another peak with great views.

Looking back to Srednja peč.

Back to the forest and past our local church to pick up our lunch.

St. Martin's dinner.
