Slovenia: GeoCaching Afternoon

After work I picked up a few Geocaches in Ljubljana and later with Nada in Novo mesto on some very interesting places.

Ossuary of victims of world war I (1914-1918) in Ljubljana. The remains of fallen soldiers and deceased prisoners of war rest in this ossuary also known as Kranjski Janezi (carniolian Johns): 35 officers and 4 701 soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian army, 342 Russian, 80 Romanian and 79 Serbian POWs.

Near the Church of All Saints on Žale, a large number of memorial tablets are placed on the semi-circular base, with the names of the unrecognized victims.

 

Monument to the Fallen during the liberation fight between 1941 and 1945 and tree climber.
