Slovenia: Via ferrata and Wide Boyz in Mojstrana
After work Nada and me drove to Mojstrana, where we decided to climb a sport via ferrata called The route of squirrels from Mojstrana or originally Pot mojstranških vever'c, 250 m high and marked with grade C/D. It was quite an easy one and in an hour we reached the top of Grančišče. From there we continued to the nearby lake Kreda, where they used to dug chalk and the name for the lake came out of that word. Soon we returned back to our starting point, Slovenian Alpine Museum and after a beer we went to see the free movie, Wide Boyz, where two Englishmen, Pete Whittaker and Tom Randall, dedicate two years of their lives to training for off-width routes. Off-width cracks are wider than hand cracks, but not wide enough for the legs or upper body to fit inside. This width is the most difficult to master, as it requires movements that can be physically awkward or uncomfortable.
