Czech Republic2015 IIHF World Championship in Ostrava, Day 4

With Nada we spiced up our days in Ostrava. We decided to rent bicycles and go to Poland for a beer. And that was our day.

Not so unusual

Crossing the border from Czech Republic to Poland

Rape field

All Saints Church in Łaziska

2 beers for less than an € (we paid 21 CZK).

Greetings from Poland

Back to Česká republika (Czech Republic)

Saint Peter of Alcantara Church - It was built in 1736. Due to the extensive coal mining in the area, the ground lowered and the church leans 6.8° southwards. The church is now a protected landmark and a memento of the past, reminding the times when coal mining in Karviná was far more extensive. Despite its leaning, the church is still active, with Mass in Czech and Polish languages held each week.

On our way back to Ostrava

In the evening we played a hockey game against Slovakia. We were leading 1:0, in 47th minute a referee wrongly excluded one of our guys and in 48th minute the Slovak team equalized. Then everything went down, we received 2 more goals and the match ended 3:1 for Slovakia. Report.
