Slovenia: Cycling (Rašica) - Work - Cycling (Kamniška Bistrica)

Today I cycled to work again, this time a bit differently. From home to Kokrica my route was the same as usual, but from there we had different plans. Rok, Grega and me decided to avoid sealed roads as much as possible and on the way we wanted to conquer a local hill, Rašica (Vrh Staneta Kosca), 641 m. We all enjoyed riding through fields, forests and on muddy roads.

Almost four hours instead of two

After work I had another bicycle trip on my schedule. Nada and me did a round-trip to Kamniška Bistrica, where we also found some GeoCaches.

 

First we stopped in the Gorge of Veliki and Mali Predaselj, that represent the narrowest parts of Kamniška Bistrica riverbed. They form a 100m long gorge, in which the river streams between vertical walls of very hard, dark-grey limestone. Gorge reaches the depth of 30 meters and in some parts it is hardly a meter wide.

Our 2nd GeoCache was located near the Plečnik mansion. The plans for the hunting lodge which was built in the reign of King Alexander and also for him were drawn up by Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik, whose aim was to incorporate the mansion’s exterior into natural environment on the one hand and on the other hand provide luxury in the interior of the building.

At this point I have another happy news. My Snow White and me achieved an important yearly milestone. We said we will do 3000 kilometres together and today that number was reached. Our first ride was on 27.4.2014, so we needed 4 months.
