Slovenia: Talež

Bronco and me were home alone, so we simply went hiking, although the weather forecast wasn't promising. Our destination was Talež on Jelovica karst plateau - Garmin Connect.

Crossing the Sava Bohinjka river.

Bronco didn't pay any attention to the fire salamander on the way.

During World War II, Jelovica was a refuge for the Slovene Partisans, so we can find some monuments dedicated to the them and some others too.

That's us on Hunting cottage Talež, 725 m.

Our view back to the valley.

Slovenia: Prelaz Ljubelj

Winter conditions are still in town and we all love them. Mountain pass Prelaz Ljubelj is always there for our quick hikes and we conquered it again. Before the departure, I put some meat and veggies in the oven and we will have that for lunch, when we come back.

I prepared some food to be placed in the oven before we started our hike to Prelaz Ljubelj.

That's us.

Our way back to the parking lot - Garmin Connect.

Our lunch.

Slovenia: Prelaz Ljubelj

For our afternoon walk, Bronco and me chose Prelaz Ljubelj. We used the old Roman path for ascent and in the end we made a nice round trip - Garmin Connect. This was already my 12th ascent in 2024 to the old mountain pass.

Bronco went searching for the wild animals and he was gone for a while. When you call him, he is usually nowhere to be found and then at some point he is just staring at you, while you call him and you don't even notice, that he is back already.

Slovenia: Kršiše

For today's afternoon hike we chose our local Kršiše. As always, it was fun - Garmin Connect.

Bronco didn't want to cooperate, so we made a photo of ourselves.

Soon he was jealous, so we made another with him.

We prolonged our trip a little bit to some nice points.

Slovenia: Ajdna and Zabreška planina

Our plan for today was to go to Ajdna and then Bronco and Nada would return back, while I would continue to Zabreška planina and fly back to the valley. But today, the plan didn't go as expected. Together we hiked to Ajdna and then we separated. Nada nad Bronco didn't have any issues with the original plan and they safely returned back to the valley, while I had too much fog on the take off site, so I also had to walk back down.

We started hiking from village Potoki.

Bronco was our guide.

Approaching the viewpoint below Ajdna.

A little fog in the valley didn't look promising for flying, still I was optimistic.

A settlement from late Antiquity has been found just below the summit of Ajdna and evidence shows that it was probably inhabited much earlier.

Bronco and me did some posing for Nada.

Together on the photo on top of Ajdna - Tuši, Bronco and Nada.

When I left Bronco and Nada behind, the weather was still OK, but when I reached Zabreška planina, there was enough visibility for flying, so I hiked back to Završnica valley - Garmin Connect.

Slovenia: Shooting

In the evening, Nada and me went zo our local gathering place, where local sports club ŠD Podljubelj organized shooting event and we tried to shoot with an air pistol and its bigger brother air gun.

Watch out, Nada in action.
