Croatia: 4 Islands MTB Race: Relaxing Day

Mitas 4 Islands MTB stage race (https://4islands.hr/) is inviolable a unique stage race that offers participants to bike on 4 different islands within 5 consecutive days passing by distinctive environments and challenging trails of islands Krk, Rab, Cres and Lošinj. Total trails distance is up to 255 km and climbing up to 5.000 meters. Well, this year it was even better, since Nada and me joined the race.

The race was over and for TuNa team, this day was reserved for relaxing on island of Lošinj. Nada rested in the apartment, while I did a short bicycle trip and on the way I picked up some geocaches. Before noon I returned back to our apartment and it was time to go back home. 4 Islands, we will soon be back, on bikes or as regular tourists.

Town of Mali Lošinj was first mentioned in 1398, under the name Malo selo ("small village"). In 1868, it experienced its golden year. There were as many as eleven shipyards, and it became the place with the largest and most developed merchant marine in the Adriatic Sea, even ahead of cities like Rijeka, Trieste and Venice.

Ferry took us back to island Krk

Interesting geocache on Island of Krk, where we had to visit northernmost, southernmost, easternmost and westernmost points of the island to calculate the final location of this cache. We secured it with a bear.
