Slovenia / Austria: Backcountry Skiing - Ljubelj - Suho Ruševje - Podnar, Women's Hockey: Croatia - Slovenia

After a short night Boštjan and me drove to Ljubelj, from where we started our backcountry skiing trip. First we ascended to Dom na Zelenici mountain hut, 1536 m, where we had a short break for hydration. From there we continued to the highest point of the day, Žleb (Suho ruševje), 1916 m. We crossed the boarder and skied down on a steep ravine all the way to our destination, Gasthaus Bodenbauer - Podnar. There we had to wait for our transport for 210 minutes, so one beer option failed.

The steepest skiing in my life

Toughest part was behind us

Boštjan in action

Beer in my hand, my skis and our ravine in the middle of the picture with Palec, 2026 m, on the left side of it and Zelenjak, 2024 m, with Vrtača, 2181 m, on the right side.

One of the options how to sneak the immigrants accross the border

In the afternoon Primož, Danica, Nada and me visited IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship in Division II Group A match between Croatia and Slovenia. We were a bit late, so the Croatia was leading 1 - 0. But when we opened our beers and our voices, our girls started to play better. Equalizer was in before the end of the first third and then we totally dominated on the field. In the end it was 1 - 6 for our girls.

One of rare attacks on this side

Congratulations girls
