Slovenia: With Kiwis to Tolsti vrh

Two co-workers from New Zealand came to visit our department in Slovenia. We decided to organize a hike for them, to find out more about our little country.

City Tržič (the settlement in the Duchy of Carniola was granted market rights to hold weekly fairs by the Habsburg emperor Frederick III in 1492) from Velika mizica, 976 m

View to the south from half way up to Koča na Kriški gori mountain hut

First part of the track was a through the nice forest

Our first stop for a quick refreshment was Koča na Kriški gori mountain hut, 1471 m

We continued to Tolsti vrh, 1715 m. Since there were some slippery snow areas only 2/3 arrived to the top. Attendees: Nejc, Tim, Tuši, Nada, Vlado and Rok. Camera didn't catch Richard, Manca and Pirgo.

View from the top of Tolsti vrh to the West with our highest mountain Triglav

After lunch we made a descend on a steep track. We passed by Čevdrci, where the monument to the WW2 is.

Perfect Sunday Hike
