Slovenia: Showering Karla and Čevljar Baron

Our car needed to be cleaned up and the best person to do this is my friend Pija, so I took her to his place, where we had some beers and he made her clean again. Thanks!

In the evening, Nada and me went to Studenec pri Krtini, where the summer theater is. Like 8 years ago (Čarlijeva teta - 13608), we went to see one of the local plays. Some info about it:

Rudolf Hahn, the author of the theatrical play with singing The Shoemaker Baron - Der Schusterbaron - Čevljar Baron, wrote this comedy in German. The text was translated by Jakob Alešovec, a writer, playwright, satirist and journalist. Alešovec, born in Skaručna near Ljubljana, was also supposed to be a shoemaker, as his parents wanted, but with the help of benefactors, he managed to finish the folk school in Kamnik and continue his education in Ljubljana. The text of the comedy came into the hands of Alojz Stražar a quarter of a century ago. He found the play interesting and suitable for performance on the Studenec stage. The staging at the time was a success, so it is no coincidence that it is coming to the Studenec stage again, as part of the 24th Cultural Summer Festival Studenec. With an adaptation of the text, rehearsals and mostly other actors and singers, the performance came to life anew. This time, the music was signed by Slavko Avsenik Jr.

The story takes place at the end of the 18th century, when barons still owned castles and mansions. With a bit of nostalgia, the sight of a small shoemaker's workshop with a pleasant smell of pitch and resin took many viewers back to their youthful days - to the harder, but still beautiful times. Twenty-six years ago, at the time of the first performance, there were still quite a few shoemaking workshops in the country and in the towns, but today there is only a small one here and there, which serves for small repairs.

Winter coat for our karla.
