Slovenia: Karlov Travnk Work Action

In the morning, I went for a walk with Bronco, and when he spotted a chamois, he pulled the leash so hard that he dislocated my finger. I realigned it, but it wouldn’t stay in place, so I immobilized it with a eraser.

Then we visited the "Kralov travnk" meadow, which suffered some damage in last year's floods. Neighbors and friends joined a work action where we cleared stones from the meadow, planted grass, and finished by enjoying a picnic.

Slovenia: KTM ride

A while ago Nada purchased a KTM bike, SX 85. Today I had an opportunity to ride it a little bit. It is a little small for me, but on the other hand very alive in the higher revs, so I enjoyed it and I think I will use it more often. Well, definitely more often than Nada.

Slovenia: Hike & Fly - Begunjščica

For the third day in a row, conditions were great for flying. Today I hiked over Zelenica and over Central ravine to the summit of Begunjščica, 2060 m. I saved my knees for the descent again and I landed behind our home. In the evening we visited our neighbor Marija and we congratulated her for her birthday. Cheers Marija!

I started hiking in the valley on Ljubelj.

And finally the summit with magnificent view the the Western side of the Karawanks and Julian Alps.

Slovenia: Jakob, Potoška gora and Cultural evening

In the morning Nada, Bronco and me did a hike over Planinska koča Iskra na Jakobu mountain hut to Potoška gora. Just below the top, there is a take off site and I flew back to Preddvor (Garmin Connect), where I waited for my ride back home. In the evening Nada played in a comedy in local cultural centre and some of us decided to see the show, that also included a play of our young actors for young audience, Volk in 7 kozličkov - The Wolf and the Seven Young Goats.

 

First we ascended to the Church of St. Jakob and Mountain hut St. Jakob (961 m).

 

Our second stop was the summit of Potoška gora, 1283 m.

Slovenia: Hike & Fly - Poldetova klopca

In the afternoon I took my backpack with my wing and from Brezje pri Tržiču I hiked to Poldetova klopca, where the take-off site Dobrča is. I unpacked my gear and flew to Bistrica pri Tržiču - Garmin Connect.

Slovenia / Austria: Backcountry Skiing - Končnikov vrh

Easter Monday is usually reserved for skiing with my friends from AO Tržič and Chera Hiking and this year our destination was Končnikov vrh, a peak in the eastern Karawanks. We cheated a little on the approach, as we used the gondola for the first part, but then we proceeded normally, on skis. First, we reached saddle Knepsovo sedlo, where the wind started to blow from Slovenian side. It didn't bother us too much and soon we were on our destination, Končnikov vrh, 2109 m. We had a quick group photo, while we had to take care of our backpacks, so the wind didn't blow them away. Soon, the fun part began, skiing to the valley. For the way down we didn't use the gondola lift, so we just skied to the point, where there was no more snow left and then... walking. Just before the end we got lucky, as one of the huts was open, so we had a quick beer. The rest of the walking was then much easier - Garmin Connect.

Gaja thought it was a hiking trip, so Badžo found some skis at home for her.
