Slovenia: Two Day Hike To Triglav - Day 2

Early in the morning, at around 5 a.m., we continued with our hike to Triglav (Day 1). Still in the dark, we left Kredarica mountain hut and after one hour, we were standing on top of Slovenia, waiting for the sunrise. We were rewarded with a beautiful scenery and after we took all the photos, we started with our way back. Kredarica mountain hut was soon behind us, I made a short detour to and then we regrouped at Dom Valentina Staniča mountain hut. We continued to descend in the valley between Cmir and Visoka Vrbanova špica and in early afternoon we finished our hiking trip.

We started with the help of the headlamps.

View through the window.

In the heart of the Julian Alps.

5:50 a.m. and we are still waiting.

A quick photo with Aljaž tower, tower with a soul.

Here it is, the sunrise on 2864 meters.

Tim.

Happy people.

A symbol of the Slovenehood.

Tim, Nada and Andreja still had some meters to the top.

Good morning people, it is 6:05 a.m.

Nada and Tim arrived, while Rok and Klemen left.

The sun is 8 minutes and 19 s away (at light speed).

Many people wanted to see the sunrise.

Warming up.

Baptising time.

After 20 years my sister and me conquered Triglav again.

Long shadow.

Preparing to return back.

One last photo.

Goodbye.

Our destination, 2 huts and a valley left of Visoka Vrbanova špica.

It was easier to climb in the dark.

Foggy Bohinj valley.

Steel ropes were very helpful.

On Mali Triglav (Small Triglav).

Matic, Klara, Aleš, Andreja, Tim, Tuši and Nada.

Peak called Kredarica was on our way.

Amazing day with amazing views.

is just a few minutes away from the main path.

Look back to hiked path and mount Triglav.

View to Cmir, 2393 m.

We continued on unmarked trail.

Wasn't easy but also not too hard.

Man made cairn markings helped us to stay on the right track.

Scree for quick descent.

We hiked to the bottom of Požgana Mlinarice, where Nada and me hiked a month ago (15024).

Common European viper.

Approaching the end of the scree area.

Removing the stones.

Finally in the forest, in the shade.

Last break.

Tired after a long day.

Emptying the food supplies.
