Slovenia: New Year in Koseze, Ljubljana

Nada and me decided to spend New Year's eve in Ljubljana, with our friends. We went to a dinner in Koseze and we had a nice evening with board games.

Slovenia: Hike from Dom v Dragi to Roblekov dom na Begunjščici

On the last hike of the year, Rok and me decided to visit Roblekov dom na Begunjščici mountain hut. We started with the hike at 6 a.m. in the morning and after a while we passed by Planina Planinca and Tomčeva koča na Poljški planini mountain hut, 1180 m. We reached our destination quite quickly. Inside we had a tea and a quick desert called Košutnik and that gave us courage, to try to continue towards Begunjščica, 2060 m. We reached and altitude of 1900 m, but then we decided to turn around, since we were not properly equipped for that much snow and ice. We returned back to the hut, where we warmed up and then we continued the same way to the valley. On our way back home we visited our co-worker Aleš, who filled us up with energy drinks and food.

Slovenia: 2nd Traditional Hike in Tržič area - Kriška gora

Before New Year, Klemen, Dejan and me decided to go to our 2nd traditional before New Year's eve hike. Our destination was the same as last year, Kriška gora, 1471 m.

After the lunch with my family, where Nada and me prepared European seabass (Brancin), my father played his first game on our new tablet.

Slovenia: Hike to Grintovec

Independence and Unity Day (Slovene: Dan samostojnosti in enotnosti) is a Slovenian national holiday that occurs on every 26 December to commemorate the official proclamation of the Slovenian independence referendum on 26 December 1990. Since it's a work free day, Nada and me went hiking, our destination Grintovec, at 2,558 metres, the highest mountain in the Kamnik–Savinja Alps. We started the hike from Dom v Kamniški Bistrici mountain hut, at 600 meters and over Cojzova koča na Kokrskem sedlu mountain hut we reached the windy and snowy peak after a couple of hours.

Slovenia: Christmas Eve on Velika planina

It was Christmas Eve and for a Midnight Mass we decided to go to the Chapel of Snow Mary (Kapela Marije Snežne) on Velika planina, 1560 m. Aleš, Rok, Vlado, nada, Saška and me started with the hike from Krivčevo. Our first stop was Jarški dom na Mali planini mountain hut, 1520 m and after a quick drink we continued to the Chapel, where we waited for the birth of Jesus Christ. Since it was very cold we stopped again in Jarški dom for a hot drink, that lasted almost till the morning.
