Slovenia: Lunch For New Car

My co-worker Primož bought a new car and he invited us for late lunch with beer, so the car will drive him around safely and without problems for a long time.

Austria: Bicycle: Home - around Vrbsko Lake (Wörthersee) - Home

Many friends said they will go cycling around Vrbsko lake, but the majority changed their mind in the morning, since it was raining a little in Slovenia. The bad weather at the start didn't stop Aleš, so he joined me and in half an hour we were on the Austrian side of Karawanks. The weather was getting better with every kilometre and the rain stopped after 45 minutes from our start.

The main goal for today was to cycle around the Vrbsko Lake. The road around the lake was closed for traffic for a day and many people use this for roller-blading and cycling. More about this yearly event can be found here: http://www.woerthersee-autofrei.at/

Slovenia: Local concert: Drek u pest & Paraziti p.13

In the evening I attended a concert in Križe. A band called Paraziti p.13 had a 10th anniversary of their existence. For the warm up a group Drek u pest (shit in the fist in English) showed on the stage so the evening was filled with punk and ska rhythms.

Slovenia: Lost bet in F1

9th yearly bet in F1 for season 2012 between my friend Dejan and me didn't ended as I expected. My guys, M. Schumacher and L. Hamilton gathered 239 points and Dejan's drivers N. Rosberg and M. Webber 272 points. As usual, the winner chooses the restaurant and the looser pays for everything and drives the winner to the restaurant and back.

After a good start I lost the bet for 33 points

 

Dejan chose Gostišče Draga in Begunje na Gorenjskem. The place looked like this a couple of decades before.

Slovenia: Helping Lang with Cement Screed

Kralj, Čajčk, Jurko and me gathered at Lang's place, where we helped him to place isolation and screed on an existing foundations of the terrace, so that later on he will be able to place the ceramic tiles on it.

After work I visited my friend Jurko and his family. We did some Ethernet wiring in the house. The job was so difficult, that it lasted all evening, so I also spent the night there.

There was still a little bit of snow left on our local abandoned ski resort and in the afternoon after work I went there for my second time this year.

Slovenia: First Ride with Motorbike in 2013 and New Car

Yesterday I met a friend, who was selling his car, Renault Clio. Since I was without a car, I decided to check out, what he is offering for 150€. I started my Yamaha Fazer FZ6 S2 and rode 10 kilometres to Bistrica pri Tržiču, where Nejc was already waiting for me. After 5 minutes we made a deal and the car was mine. I drove the car to my sister's place and returned home with my motorbike. I decided to arrange the papers for the car next week.

Slovenia: International Rescue Drill & Dinner with Neighbours

In the neighbourhood we had a gathering of participants in an international rescue drill. Fire brigades, ambulance vehicles, police units and others gathered on the parking lot just 100 meters from my home. The exercise was conducted on the assumption that in the road tunnel Ljubelj, 3 kilometres up the road, occurred a serious traffic accident involving bus and several other vehicles, with many persons injured and a vehicle on fire. Units from Slovenia and Austria went there to help.

In the evening we had a common dinner at family Kralj's place, my neighbours. Rajc, my 3rd neigbour down the road and a famous cook also came with some ingredients and we all had a great time.

Slovenia: Charity Badminton Tournament with Aviat

Our company has a sports and cultural society called Indijanci and we organised a Charity Badminton tournament. The raised money was donated to the project called "Botrstvo". Project is aimed at improving the quality of life of children and adolescents living in financial distress and in need of financial assistance and encouragement. We also had great prizes for the best three participants, Paris for 2, Vienna (Dunaj) for two and a box and a half of beer.
