Slovenia: Kršiše and Vaška mafija
In the morning, Bronco and I headed out for a hike to the local hill of Kršiše. Along the way, we noticed that the first flowers were already in bloom. It felt especially fitting, as it was March 8th - International Women's Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the achievements and contributions of women around the world. Later in the evening, we attended an event in our village. The cultural association KUD Sovodenj performed their play Vaška mafija. As someone who enjoys productions by small local theatre groups, it was an event I simply couldn't miss.
The first flowers are blooming - winter has finally loosened its grip on our village.

At the center of the play is the Koren family, who control everything in the village and rent out agricultural equipment and tools at exploitative prices. But when the Korens kill the husband of the village policewoman, they trigger a widespread uprising in the village against the family…
