Slovenia: Tolsti vrh

Early wake up and at 5 a.m. Nada and me were already hiking from Pavilion NOB towards Church of St. Joseph in Tržič. Our first destination was Koča na Kriški gori mountain hut and we reached it just for sunrise. We continued towards Tolsti vrh, with 1704 meters, the highest peak of the day, where we had a short break for a snack. Our next destinations were Mala Poljana and Velika Poljana and since we were there ahead of our schedule, we had a little longer pause. The last part of the way was a descent to Dom pod Storžičem, where we and some others stopped by the Monument to the victims of the mountains. We concluded the day with the walk to the valley and a great burger from Karavla 297.

We started the hike from Pavilion NOB in Tržič.

The Church of St. Joseph has watched over the town centre of Tržič since the beginning of the 18th century.
