Slovenia / Croatia: Riding to Krk

With Nada we decided to escape to the seaside for the weekend. Our meeting point was city Krk on the island with the same name. On my way to there I stopped by some interesting places.

Pope John Paul II visited Slovenia in 1996. As he was known for being very close to the young, he chose to celebrate his 76th birthday surrounded by an ecstatic crowd of dancing youngsters near the church of St. Daniel in Zalog near Postojna.

Monument in Pivka, dedicated to the fallen soldiers (partisans) in the Second World War.

Republic F-84 Thunderjet at Krk airport

Glagolitic letter A with the view to Baška was one of our last stops.

Wild camping is not allowed in Croatia, so you have to hide a bit more.

Less is a simple strategy board game and beer perfectly goes along with it.

GeoCaches found:
- TB-Guesthouse Ljubljana, GC5D35N, where I took the trackable item "Tim and Debbie's 30th Anniversary Bug", TB7YVE1 and it visited the remaining caches today
- Papež ma vas rad!, GC3TA99
- Padli borci / Fallen Fighters, GC5X7WX
- Krk airport II - Flughafen Krk II -(reloaded), Multi, GC1YA4D
- BELVEDER - Pogled na Velebit, GCVR9M
