Austria: Traditional Easter Monday Backcountry Skiing - Stol

Every year our Alpine Association AO Tržič organizes a backcountry skiing expedition. Many of us gathered and we drove to Bear valley in Koroška, Austria. For our approach to the Stol summit we chose Janežev žleb, that was a bit icy at the top: Peak was conquered and the skiing part began.

We started at a place called Pri Jožefu. Janežev žleb is clearly visible ravine on the left side of the Stol mountain

Start of the Janežev žleb, the steeper part of our trip

Long way up

Steepness doesn't give up, nor are we

Mountains are still white, while the valleys already enjoy the spring

Windy peak

Great day in The Karawanks

Dinner time - Black pepper steak
