Slovenia: Backcountry Skiing: Around Dom pod Storžičem, Kayaking: Rakov Škocjan, Lake Cerknica

Since I still had touring ski equipment from my friend Boštjan, we decided to do another tour with ŠKD Indijanci this week. Our plan was to conquer Veliki Javornik (Ženiklovec) but I guess we aimed too high, therefore we made the trip a little bit shorter, still difficult. We actually made it half way to Storžič, which may also be one of our next destination.

Navigation through the woods in the dark may be very difficult from time to time and today it definitely was.

Uroš joned us on his first ŠKD Indijanci trip

The point where we said enough. We have to go back in the valley and to work

ŠKD Indijanci - Outdoor Recreation #24

In the afternoon I joined my friend Tadej on his kayak expedition. Since there was a lot of snow and rain lately in Slovenia, some water levels raised a lot. We decided to explore the Rak creek and nearby Lake Cerknica.

I hardly fit in the kayak

Me in kayak on creek Rak in Rakov Škocjan, oldest landscape park in Slovenia.

I had some difficulties with kayak, creek and myself.

Tadej below the Big natural bridge, which is 10 metres high and 40 metres long arch and is the remainder of the cave roof from the distant past, when the entire stream of the water was under the land.

We were done with our fist destination and before going back we decided to take a quick tour on Lake Cerknica, an intermittent lake, which when it is full, it is the largest lake in the country.

It was much easier to kayak on still water
