Slovenia: Tegoška planina and Pungrat

It was a nice Sunday and Nada, Bronco and me decided to spend it hiking under Košuta ridge. We visited 2 mountain pastures, Tegoška planina and Pungrat - Garmin Connect.

Slovenia: Rinke

The Rinke peaks of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps are a true alpine playground, offering adventure and breathtaking views in every direction. On this day, we tackled all four: Koroška Rinka, 2433 m,  Kranjska Rinka, 2453 m, Štajerska Rinka, 2374 m and Mala Rinka, 2289 m. Our hike started from Logarska Dolina valley, with a break at Dom na Okrešlju mountain hut. We made another stop before the climbing section to Koroška Rinka, where we geared up with our protection equipment. The summit was soon conquered, and from there we made short detours to the other Rinka peaks.

Soon after, we began descending from the last peak. I left the group and returned to the valley via Žmavčarji, while the rest of the Chera Hiking group continued towards Koča na Kamniškem Sedlu mountain hut, where they decided to spend the night. When I reached the valley, I hitchhiked to Kamnik, where Nada picked me up, concluding the day - Garmin Connect.

 

At the start of our hike, we checked the directions and soon arrived at Rinka Falls, tumbling 105 m below.

Slovenia: 15 years of Karavla 297

Our local restaurant, Karavla 297, celebrated its 15th anniversary - and we were invited to join the party. Guesthouse Karavla 297 is known for serving top-notch Slovenian cuisine in the beautiful embrace of the mountains, and it's one of our favorite spots for good food and drinks. But today wasn't about the menu - it was all about celebrating. Cheers!

Slovenia: MTB - Prelaz Ljubelj

It was time for another organized MTB tour. Many of my friends had never ridden up to Prelaz Ljubelj from the Austrian side, so we planned a mini two-country trip to the pass. After enjoying some well-deserved sweets at the top, we all made it safely back down to the valley, finishing where we started at Kamp Podljubelj - Garmin Connect.

  

The road to the pass is less steep on the Austrian side than on the Slovenian side.

 

People on electricity were making fun of traditional bikers.

 

The hut at the top was still opened, so we had a nice dessert.

Slovenia: Cobblers Sunday in Tržič

On Angel Sunday, the first Sunday in September, the streets of Tržič come alive and the town beneath the Karawanks attracts large numbers of visitors. Cobblers Sunday developed from the Tržič fairs. The town acquired market rights in 1492 for the sale of wine, livestock, and iron products. Thus there began a series of weekly as well as annual fairs, of which the most important was the fair for farm products on Angel Sunday (the first Sunday in September).

Our local sports club, ŠD Podljubelj, showcased one of our favorite winter sports - sledding - but with a twist. Instead of snow, we used specially modified sleds with roller wheels and turned it into a fun competition called "Sankstart." The goal was simple: launch yourself from the take-off ramp as quickly as possible. Over the course of the day, we counted more than 1,000 starts.

Since we did this for the first time, we were still a bit disorganized.

 

And the competition started. But as it turned out, kids just like to sled.

 

Happy kids, happy parents.

The grown ups took the time more seriously.
