Slovenia: Along Kamniška Bistrica

While Nada was busy with a few errands in Ljubljana, Bronco and I made the most of the day by exploring the upper reaches of the Kamniška Bistrica valley. Surrounded by forests, mountain streams, and the first signs of autumn, we followed quiet trails and enjoyed the peaceful scenery far from the city crowds. Along the way, we also tracked down a few geocaches, adding a little treasure hunt to our adventure.

Before leaving Kamnik behind, we tracked down two more geocaches from the HoG (History of Geocaching) series. That also revealed the GeoArt 25.

The first section of the trail follows the most scenic part of Koželj Trail, named after Maks Koželj (1883-1956), a Kamnik painter, mountaineer, and mountain rescue pioneer.

Where the Kamniška Bela joins the larger Kamniška Bistrica.

  

Crystal-clear water and towering rock walls make Predaselj one of the most picturesque spots in the Kamniška Bistrica Valley.

 

At Predaselj Gorge, the Kamniška Bistrica squeezes through one of the narrowest and most spectacular sections of its course.

The return journey offered a few more peaceful views before reaching the starting point - Garmin Connect.
