Slovenia: Pokljuška soteska and Dizldorf

We already visited Pokljuška soteska gorge in 2022 (15914) and today we did it again. The wild Pokljuška soteska Gorge is located in Triglav National Park. It enthuses with a forest dappled with diverse vegetation, steep walls, natural bridges, holes, caves and narrow passages between 50 metres long walls. The gorge itself is 2 kilometers long and 40 metres deep in its most picturesque part. The water running from the glacier, which is now the influx to Radovna, carved the gorge in the limestone rocks approximately 10000 years ago. The water slowly disappeared thus leaving behind the largest fossil gorge in Slovenia.

This time, we approached the gorge from its upper part, from Zatrnik.

Entering the gorge.

Natural sights are densely scattered in the entire Pokljuka Gorge.

Oh yeah, let's don't forget about making a selfie.

In the narrowest part.

A hike through the narrowest part is a special experience since it leads us to the most beautiful part and a small natural bridge along the wooden bridges - galleries.

The power of water is still on the job.

One more photo and then we exited the gorge - Garmin Connect.

In the evening we attended a theater play in our village, called Dizldorf, played by actors from KUD Sovodenj. The municipality of Dizldorf becomes the proud owner of an eco-certificate, but it is threatened by a local pesticide factory. Due to poor measurement results, the municipality is in danger of losing its eco-certificate, so the mayor fights with all her might to have the factory stop production. When this does not happen, they break into the factory...
