Slovenia: Kukova špica

Local mountaineering section AO Tržič organised an easy hiking trip to Kukova špica, 2427 m, and with Nada we decided to join them. Quite a big group gathered in Črlovec scree ravine, on the road into Vrata valley. The hike required us to overcome 1500 meters in height and that took us some time, but since we had a perfect weather, we didn't need to rush. The group reached the top at around 10 a.m. and after a snack and a few photos, we returned back to the valley.

We started with our headlamps

The sun was slowly rising

Autumn colors kicked out

We knew we will have a wonderful day

Although the trail is not marked, it is hard to get lost

The summit is still far away

The terrain from Gulce pass becomes a little more demanding, so we put our helmets on

Precipitous wall

Do we really have to go back?

Rocks below the summit required a little focus

The scree offered a quick descend

Next time with skis or a paraglider?
