Slovenia: Ostrež
Nada and me used this Sunday for relaxation and since we decided to visit her grandma and her uncle, we explored the area around Ostrež, that was on our way. Easy hike, few geocaches, chatting with the relatives and the Sunday was quickly finished.
Old hanging bridge over Sava river near Renke and local parish church, dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes in Polšnik.
Towards Ostrež, 856 m.

The view wasn't perfect, still we enjoyed the hike.
The local church, built on Ostrež Hill south of the settlement, is dedicated to Saint Catherine. It is a 16th-century building that was restyled in the Baroque in the 18th century.
Valvasor wrote: "There are many miracles happening there. A spring springs four or five steps from the church. It was probably excavated by humans. Many people wash and heal with this water." |
