Slovenia: MTB - Velika Vremščica

In the morning I joined forces with Baki and we dove to Primorska with an intention to cycle to Slavnik. Just before the start of the cycling, it started to rain, so we had to change our plans and that was easily done with the help of some beers and good food. In the afternoon we settled in campsite Dujčeva domačija near the karst river Reka. The weather improved, so I decided to make an ascent to Velika Vremščica, while Baki explored the area around the campsite.

Crossing the river Reka, the largest and longest subterranean river in Slovenia.

The Reka river flows through one of the most interesting caves in Slovenia, Škocjan caves.

Nice road towards the summit.

Vremščica is a 1027 m high hill that rises above Vremska dolina valley and near the towns of Senožeče, Pivka and Divača. In fact, it is a mountain range, the highest peak of which is Velika Vremščica.

Getting closer.

Just a short section through the forest and the summit will be conquered.

With Black Mamba on top of Velika Vremščica, 1027 m.

Time for the fun part.

Great road for descending.

Out of order.

Time for a short break.

Vremski Britof - Church of the Assumption of Mary and soon I finished my cycling day - Garmin Connect.

Slovenia: Vintage Ride to Work

I needed to return the bicycle, that I borrowed a while ago, so I decided to go to work with it and return it afterwards. It was fun to ride again with analogue shifters and heavy gears. Together we did a little more than 85 km - Garmin Connect.

Speeding towards Kranj.

Photo session in Kranj.

Off-road near Ljubljana.

Slovenia: Soča Trail #2

The Soča Trail of Triglav National Park is a 25 kilometer hike that starts at the source of the Soča River and ends in the town of Bovec. All along the way, the stunning turquoise waters of the Soča River is in view as you hike alongside it, cross bridges over it, and even jump into the river itself. Nada, Bronco and me continued hiking with a company from Chera Hiking, enjoying the wonderful attractions of the Soča valley.

First part of our hike on Soča Trail - 15808.

Start of the hike on day 2.

The most beautiful gorge is carved by Soča river near the Soča village. Big trough is 750 meters long, 15 meters deep and in sometimes with river banks only 2 meters apart.

Enjoying attractions along the Soča Trail.

One of the million bridges across the river.

Another very narrow part of the river - Korita Soče pri Kršovcu.

Steep and deep.

Finishing the trip with a lunch made by Nina and then some of us continued towards the confluence of Soča and Koritnica - Garmin Connect.

Slovenia: Soča Trail #1

The Soča Trail of Triglav National Park is a 25 kilometer hike that starts at the source of the Soča River and ends in the town of Bovec. All along the way, the stunning turquoise waters of the Soča River is in view as you hike alongside it, cross bridges over it, and even jump into the river itself. Today Nada, Bronco and me joined the Chera Hiking team and together we hiked half of it, from the source of the Soča river to Camp Jelinc near Small and Big Troughs. Easy hike, great company and a lot of laughing, as always with Chera Hiking.

After the start, a small portion of the trail follows the main road.

Carefully across the bridge.

Mlinarica, a raging stream, carved a kilometer-long and hundred-meter-deep gorge, which narrows into a unique trough before the confluence with the Soča. There is an 8 meter high waterfall at the mouth.

Since we were not in a hurry, we refreshed ourselves in the cold water.

Friend along our way.

Education time somewhere above Trenta village.

Another stop along the way.

After the break, we received a nice portion of rain, still the morale remained on the highest level.

The hike for the day one was over (Garmin Connect) and we continued with various activities.

Nina prepared a nice dinner and along the fire we continued saving the world.

Nada, Bronco and Tuši after a nice hike.

Slovenia: MTB ride to Prevala

For today, I had a great plan. Cycle from home to mountain pasture Planina Prevala, descend to Ljubelj and continue to Ljubelj pass and then return back home. Reality was a little it different as I broke my rear fork on the first descend, so my plan had to be cut to half.

Mountain pasture Planina Prevala, 1311 m.

On my way down I had amazing view through the window to the Košutica, but soon afterwards, I had to finish my trip. My Black Mamba needs a special attention.
