Croatia: Moon Walk

Hiking trail to Hlam also called "Moon's Trail" begins by the church of St. Ivan and its cemetery above Baška. This spot by itself is a wonderful post, since the view of the Baška's seashore is breath-taking from here already. The trail slowly ascends and almost at the top, Nada and me decided to see one of the lookout points on a peak called Stražice, 372 m. After a while we returned back to the main track and arrived to the Moon Plateau / Mjesečev plato. One of the highest peaks there is Hlam and also our highest point of the day. From there we returned back to Baška over another lookout point Zakam. We were right on time, since it started to rain immediately after we ordered a refreshing drink in a bar in our city.

Moving on the the next hill, Hlam

 

Arrived to the Moon - The Moon Plateau received its name from the extraordinary rock formations.

 

Trail to Hlam leads around stone walls, built as a protection against wind and erosion and as a protection for the sheep, which are a common sight in the nearby hills.
