Canada: Day 11 - Toronto Blue Jays Baseball match
Rok and me were spending our vacation in Ontario, Canada. Today we decided to visit Toronto again and to attend the baseball match between Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays. We used the bus / train combination to overcome the distance of 100 kilometers. We attended the game a little unprepared, since the rules were quite unfamiliar to us, but during the game we conquered the basics. The game was a tie after regular nine innings, but then the home team made a final move in the overtime, the 15th inning and won the game 11:10.
Previous days of our trip to Canada: Day 10, Day 9, Day 8, Day 7, Day 6, Day 5, Day 4, Day 3, Day 2 and Day 1.
We purchased at Rogers Centre, opened in 1989.

Baseball evolved from older bat-and-ball games already being played in England by the mid-18th century. This game was brought by immigrants to North America, where the modern version developed. |
The SkyDome wasn't full, so we could easily change places and drink a beer

The start of the game was promising, as we lead 5:0.
The "Blue Jays" name originates from the bird of the same name, and blue is also the traditional colour of two of Toronto's other professional sports teams: the Maple Leafs (ice hockey) and the Argonauts (Canadian football). |
Toronto Blue Jays were the 2 time winners of the World Series, in 1992 and 1993 |
