Rok and me were spending our vacation in BC, Canada. Our main plan in British Columbia was to go camping and hiking for a couple of days. A couple of days was only 2 for us, still we did it.
The night in the tent was quite cold, since it was a little below zero in the morning. A short walk around the campsite with the visit of the toilet and the breakfast woke us up and after we packed all our gear, we were ready for hiking. We were also lucky, since nobody was checking the camp permits, so we had a free stay. Our first destination was Panorama Ridge and after the first steep part we left our heavy luggage at the crossroad, on which we plan to return. The trail led us past few small lakes below the Black Tusk, where our path turned right to the designated ridge. After a while we were awarded with magnificent views and the summit was conquered. We took a few photos and then started returning to the crossroad with the backpacks. Bears left them alone, so we picked them up and we continued with our return back to the valley. Soon we run into a frightened man, that saw a bear, so we calmly took our bear spray and we continued. The frightened man followed us and we soon saw a black bear picking up the blueberries in the vicinity. He didn't seem to be bothered, so we took a few photos and continued. The trail passed the Taylor Meadows Campground, following the long hike trough the dense forest, we arrived to the parking lot.
Finally we got rid of heavy backpacks and since we didn't have a plan how to get back home, we just decided, that we will ask everyone returning from the hike, if he goes towards Vancouver. Soon we found a couple that had a plan for the same direction, but they quickly wanted to visit Whistler. No worries for us, a quick beer would be more than great for our thirsty bodies. And so we were on the road again, driving with a couple on honeymoon, Becky from Ireland and Jacob from Slovakia, living in Prague. As planned, we had a beer in a city, that hosted 2010 Winter Olympics and then we started our trip to Vancouver. Sea to Sky Highway quickly brought us to Vancouver, where Rok and me took the train to Surrey. Quick beer and Nataša picked us up. Another hour on the highway ended with a dinner in Greek restaurant in Chilliwack.
