Canada: Day 5 - Exploring Chilliwack and Hike to Lindeman Lake

Rok and me were spending our vacation in BCCanada. On our 5th day we explored our home city of Chilliwack, the 7th largest in British Columbia, located 102 kilometres southeast of Vancouver. The city has around 100000 inhabitants and is bounded on the north by the Fraser River, and on the south by the Canada-United States border. Poppy, Nataša's dog, accompanied us on this city tour. In the afternoon Nataša's housemate Cassie asked us, if we want to join her with Lucy and Lily (her dogs) on a short walk. We took quite a long drive to the East, where we parked our car. Afterwards we did the hike to Lindeman Lake, a turquoise lake surrounded by dense forest and mountain peaks. Unfortunately it was too cold to swim, so we explored the area around it and then we returned back home.

Piper James (Jimmy) Cleland Richardson (25 November 1895 – 8/9 October 1916) was a Canadian recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

The City of Chilliwack has over 100 parks and natural areas which together make up over 400 hectares of green space.

After a short hike we reached our destination, Lindeman Lake

Average depth is 8 m, while the maximum reaches 20 m.

You can also camp near the lake. Since there are bears around, you can store your belongings above the ground.
