Croatia: Cycling in Kvarner and Gorski kotar: Vacation Day 15/17

Today Nada and me decided to cycle on a little more steeper roads, so we did the circle from Crikvenica through Bribir to Lič. Around Fužine we checked a couple of lakes and then we descended through Zlobin, Hreljin, Drivenik and Tribalj back to Crikvenica. After the lunch, prepared by my aunt Marija, we went back to Ljubljana. Thanks for your hospitality aunt Marija!

The remains of former castle Grižane are situated above village Grižane-Belgrad, at a terrace of a steep 250 m high cliff. In the period of the Frankopans the castle had an important strategic position in Vinodol. 

Ascent to Lič is very steep

Near Fužine we visited 3 artificial lakes: Lake Potkoš, Bajer Lake and Lake Lepenica

On the way back to Slovenia we stopped on The Hill of Liberty in Ilirska Bistrica, where 3 monuments lie. One of the monuments on the hill represents a cannon and American light tank M3A3 Stuart, which took part in the liberation of Ilirska Bistrica in the World War 2.
