Nada and me decided to go hiking around local hills on this Sunday. We started with ascent to Prelaz Ljubelj, where we run into our neighbour Borut. Since we had similar plans, he joined us. Our next destination was Lokovnikov Grintovec, quite unknown peak among the locals. The peak itself offers a good view to the nearby peaks, still today we weren't that lucky. We returned back to saddle Dovjakovo sedlo and started attacking Košutica, the highest peak of the day. Most of the people only know 2 paths to the top of the mountain, but there is also one straight from the North side, called Gerhard Orasch route. It used to be marked and even secured, but these days it is more or less a difficult unmarked way. We quickly reached the top, made a few photos and descended to mountain pasture Korošica, where the remaining of the Kralj family, our neighbours, were helping the pasture caretakers. We spend the rest of the day there, with animals, good food and company.
Towards our first destination, Koča na Ljubelju mountain hut, 1370 m.
Moving on on the route that follows the border between Slovenia and Austria.
Arrived to the place called Grunt. We can see our peaks here, on the left is Lokovnikov Grintovec and on the right Košutica.
We left the border path and switched to Austrian side.
Arrived to a saddle Dovjakovo sedlo (1728 m). Easy path leads left to Lokovnikov Grintovec and more demanding to the right, to Košutica.
If you zoom in, you can see Nada between the dwarf mountain pine.
