Rok checked the weather forecast and we should have a flyable day. Before work we parked one of our cars near
Valvasorjev dom pod Stolom mountain hut, 1181 m, and the hike to
Stol started. We had a little heavy legs from yesterday, but that didn't bother us. What started to disturb us, was the northerly wind, that was stronger and stronger as we were approaching the top. As planned, we reached the top for sunrise and we made some photographs, still the wind didn't suit us, so the
paragliding became parawaiting. Before the unwanted hike back to the valley, we decided to descend a bit and see the conditions there. They weren't perfect, still we were able to take off and a nice journey to the valley started. Nice calm flight ended with landing in
Moste, from where we just went to our work place.

The Sun was stil awakening |
Patiently waiting for the Sun
|
Hooray, here it is |
|
Astronomically, sunrise occurs for only an instant: the moment at which the upper limb of the Sun appears tangent to the horizon. |
|
Sunrise actually occurs before the Sun truly reaches the horizon because Earth's atmosphere refracts the Sun's image. At the horizon, the average amount of refraction is 34 arcminutes, though this amount varies based on atmospheric conditions. |

Parawaiting is part of this sport |
|
Still waiting for satisfying conditions |
|
And here we are, finally in the air |
|
We were there, on the highest peak of the Karawanks |
|
2 of these hold us to the glider |

Rok, river Sava and our landing site |

Full speed ahead |
