Ukraine: Road Trip Day 7 -  Conquering Hoverla / Говерла, Ukrainian Highest Mountain

One of our goals on this road trip was to conquer the highest mountain of Ukraine, Hoverla. Some of us wanted to be on top for sunrise, but the majority wanted a normal ascend, so we had a normal hour departure. 2 hours of driving for 30 kilometers and we were all awaken before the start of the hike. We choose the steep way up and without any issues we conquered the 2061 m high mountain. Photo session on top and soon we were on our way back down. Neža, Nada, Rok and me decided to spice up our route and we chose more exciting way down. We all regrouped back on our starting point, where our long driving to Mukachevo began.

Our previous days of Ukraine Road Trip: Day 6Day 5Day 4Day 3Day 2 and Day 1.

Easy (green) or steep (blue). We chose the blue one.

According to some accounts, the name Hoverla has Old Hungarian origins and means “Snow Mountain”.
