Slovenia: Triglav: Day 1
Our sport and cultural society ŠKD Indijanci organized a 2 day trip to our highest mountain, Triglav, 2864 m, and 7 members attended. John, Nada, Rok, Nejc, Vlado, Blaž and me started with the hike from Vrata valley at 5 p.m. with a goal to reach Triglavski dom na Kredarici mountain hut, 2515 m. Our goal was achieved around 10 p.m. in the dark, but since we were properly equipped, that didn't bother us.

Our route was called Tominškova route, rated as very difficult marked way. It is named after Dr. Fran Tominšek who was the President of the Slovenian Mountaineering Society. He pioneered the route in 1903 and today it is regarded as being the second most difficult of the 20 well established routes to the summit of Triglav. |
