Slovenia: Bicycle ascent to Jamnik, Geocaching in Ljubljana
Weather forecast didn't predict any heavy rain in the morning so Nada and me went on a bicycle trip through Kropa to Jamnik. The descent ran through Podblica and Besnica to Kranj and soon we were back in Bistrica pri Tržiču.
Short stop before the ascent to Jamnik in Kropa, known for its traditional smithies, which produce a variety of decorative metal fittings. Metalworking has an ancient tradition in Kropa, with evidence of metalworks from Celtic times in the wider area and the earliest furnaces actually in Kropa from the 14th century onwards. On the picture Nada and the remnants of the indigenous smelting furnace (Slovenian furnace) near Kropa come from 14th century. |
Church on top of Jamnik is dedicated to Saints Primus and Felician |
