Slovenia: Around Benedikt

We continued our 2-day trip in Benedikt (15850) and in the morning Bronco and me went for a morning walk and Podržaj family joined us. We visited the Springs of Benedikt with 3 bore-holes named Helena, Ana and Paula. After the breakfast we all went for a hike to nearby church,  dedicated to Three Holy kings, where we also found some other attractions and soon we left our hosts and it was time to go home. Thanks for having us.

Waking up.

Visiting the Springs of Benedikt.

Aquarium at our host's place. Leon takes care of them.

Quick visit to the playground.

The local church Sveti Trije Kralji v Slovenskih Goricah from which the settlement gets its name is dedicated to the Three Kings (Slovene: Sveti Trije Kralji).

Dominik Čolnik, also known as the "King of the Slovenske Gorice", was a progressive farmer who, with his economic and political work, is largely responsible for the development and strengthening of the Slovenian national idea in Slovenske Gorice.

Klopotec is a wooden mechanical device on a high wooden pole, similar to a windmill. It is used as a bird scarer in the vineyards of traditional wine-growing landscapes of Slovenia, Austria, and Croatia. We saw a nice example on our short hike, that Bronco and me prolong to the nearby pond.

Geocache found:
