Someone had a stupid idea a while ago, that it would be nice to go to work with a bicycle in January and some of us agreed. Today was the last day in January, so Rok and me fulfilled that idea, while its author remained in its comfort zone. Good job Saša. When I arrived back home, I still had just enough time to join Primož and Andrej and together we conquered Koča na Ljubelju mountain hut.
Traffic was terrible, as drivers don't expect cyclists in the middle of winter.
Only Rok and me had the courage to go on a morning ride.
Nada, Rok and me went on a hike after work. Our destination was Potoška gora and we chose a route past Planinska koča Iskra na Jakobu mountain hut, 961 m. As predicted, the day was flyable, so Rok and me flew back to the valley.
What are Travel bugs? Travel bugs are physical Geocaching game pieces that move from geocache to geocache. Types of trackables include: geocoins, tags, t-shirts, cars and more! We spotted another one during our morning drive to work.
Nada and me put the last nail in the coffin in a ŠD Podljubelj challenge, where we had to conquer 12 peaks and huts in a year. We did it in less than a month and now we can rest for the remaining of the year. The last hike was a nice circular route to Hajnževo sedlo, 1701 m, where we fulfilled our plan. We returned back to our starting point via Koča na Ljubelju mountain hut and for a reward we had a fish dinner in our favourite restaurant.
Weather wasn't perfect but on the other hand also not too bad to do some hiking and since we didn't want to relax at home, Nada and me decided to conquer Begunjščica, 2060 m. We also spiced up things a bit and we summited the mountain via Y ravine. Conditions in the ravine were good, with just the right amount of snow, so all the jumps were nicely covered. For descent we decided to use the southern side of the mountain, with totally different conditions. There was almost no sign of snow, just icy patches. In Roblekov dom na Begunjščici mountain hut we had a nice lunch and then we returned back to Ljubelj via Koča na Prevalu mountain hut.
It didn't look promising in the beginning. Lack of snow and foggy weather.
After a while, we finally reached the snow.
