Kenya: Day 19: Diani Beach, Sailing with Dhow
We woke up quite early again and we took Mark to school. We continued towards Rastaman's shop, where the captain of the dhow was already waiting for us. Together we went to the beach and 2 more crew members were already there and soon we started sailing in the Indian Ocean.
We sailed to the open and there we stopped and started fishing with fishing lines. The depth of the sea supposed to be 100 meters, which is more than 2 times more than the deepest point of Slovenian sea. With Nada we both felt a bit sick because of the waves, but looking into the horizon helped a lot. After 2.5 hours we had enough fish for our lunch, so we started sailing back. One crew member cleaned all the fish on our way back.
We returned back to Rastaman's shop before noon and the captain started the fire and started baking our catch. While we were sailing, the Rastaman already arranged a salad Kachumbari and a coconut rice for us. The food was delicious.
On our way back we took a long walk on the Diani beach, where we found another GeoCache. This one was also in the area of the shops, but this time we didn't buy anything, so we just picked up a guy, who drove us home to Ukunda with his motorbike.
At home Edith made a dinner for all of us, vegetable soup with chapati. Since we leave early in the morning, we made a group photo and went to bed.
