Our money was depleting, so we needed another
ATM to withdraw some more. We found the proper one in 2nd try and after asking a security guard. That task was done and then we decided to have breakfast in
Mombasa. After it, we returned back to the hotel, where we packed our stuff and took a
tuk-tuk to Likoni
ferry, which is the quickest option to continue towards
Ukunda.
Likoni ferry, that started operating in 1937, was totally full, still it carried everyone across to
Likoni. There, we took the
matatu to
Ukunda, to Beach corner, as our
CouchSurfing host instructed us. Edith, Nick's wife, picked us up and together we went to their home, where their son Mark was playing.
Edith went back to work, while Mark, 7-year old boy, became our tourist guide. Together we went to
Diani beach and we started exploring it south from the crossroad, where
Nakumatt shop is. Here, there was a little more tourists, still far from being crowded. The afternoon passed quickly and we had to return back home, where Edith cooked us a nice dinner, rice, meat and cabbage with onions. Delicious!

Going on the Likoni ferry, that will take us 500 meters to the other side. |
