Kenya: Day 2: Exploring Nairobi

After a while it was time for a shower, but since it was one of those days without water, we had to improvise it with the help of water stored in a big tank in the house. All fresh, Nada and me went outside, where we took the matatu to the city centre, where we explored the major attractions of our interest. We also took a photo of the mausoleum, where Jomo Kenyatta, the first President of Kenya is buried, but we had to delete it, since the soldier ordered us to do so, or we could go to court, with the possible penalty of 5 years imprisonment.
Our next task was money withdrawal. My Maestro card was not accepted at the majority of the ATMs, so we had to find one that will give us money and that one was CfC Stanbic, our 20th.
Next one was to find a gas cartridge for our stove, that we will use in the mountains. We asked at around 10 shops and in the end we were also lucky, but with a help of a Kenyan friend. Probably Nakumatt shopping centre was the only one that had it. In the end that friend also took us to his shop and we ended up bargaining for the painting and we bought it.
The last thing we had to arrange was to check the transport capabilities for Naro Moru, our starting point for the hike to Mount Kenya. We did that too, although we had difficulties to get rid of all the guys, that tried to sell us packages with the guide, cook and porter to the top.
On our way back to Umoja we went on a matatu again and this time they had a holy mass in it. In Umoja we ran into a wedding and they invited us to participate. We decided to watch it from a safe distance and not draw too much attention, still all the kids came to us, touching our hair and skin and we had to take a lot of photos with them. We really are different.
After a while we continued back home, where we started packing our backpacks, but then our host Willys arrived, with his 2 guests from Iceland, so we continued to Harry's Tavern. On the way there we bought a credit for prepaid electricity, and later it was beer time, but we returned soon, since we had to continue packing for tomorrow.
