Kloben, in Austria's
Hohe Tauern, is a peak near
Grossglockner, offering challenging climbs and backcountry skiing and it was our choice for ending this winter season. Miha, Badžo, Tomaž and me were the only ones in this adventure. At 2455 meters, Torlköpf, accessible via the
Grossglockner High Alpine Road thanks to Miha, served as the launch point for our skiing excursion. We crossed the glacier Brennkogelkees and soon we reached our peak Kloben, 2938 m and soon it was time for descent. Over another glacier, Spielmannkees we skied almost 1200 vertical meters down to the vicinity of Trauneralm and then, walking. 7 km was ahead of us, before we reached the Tauernhaus with the beer. We also ordered the taxi here that soon took us back to our car. Wasn't cheap, but it was worth it -
