ŠKD Indijanci organised a hiking trip to Grintovec, but since we usually use a more advanced approach, we didn't disappoint and we started our trip at the lower station of the cable car to Krvavec, at an altitude 602 m. Bad weather forecast reduced the number of attendees only to Vlado and me, while Nada decided to take an easier path. With Vlado we hiked with short breaks, passing Davovec (930m), Dom na Gospincu (1491m), Veliki Zvoh (1971m), Vrh Korena (1999m), Škrbina (1870m) and Kalški greben (2224 m) and soon we reached the Cojzova koča na Kokrskem sedlu mountain hut (1793 m), where Nada was already waiting for us. A little longer pause with a quick weather check convinced us to continue towards our destination, Grintovec (2558 m), the highest peak of Kamnik-Savinja Alps. At the top it started to rain, so we just started to return back to the hut after the quick photo session. Another longer break for a beer and we finished the day with a descend back to the valley, a place called Suhadolnik (901 m), which was also Nada's starting point.
Vlado at first major peak called Veliki Zvoh (1971m)
Ridge called Jež (hedgehog)
At Vrh Korena, just 1 meter below 2000 meters, we signed in
Knafelc blaze, named after Alojz Knafelc, showed us the way. It was introduced in 1871 as white dot inside a red ring.
Sky cleared up a bit and we saw that we still have a very long way ahead of us
How long did you walk?
