Slovenia: Fourth Traditional Hike to Stol, GeoCaching Event Pozdravimo 2017 - Willkommen 2017


Our traditional hike to Stol, with 2236 meters the highest peak of the Karawanks, occurred today, on the 2nd Sunday in January. This year we had 4 participants, Nada, Rok, Tadej and me. The hike started a little past 6 o'clock in the morning and since the conditions were great this year, we reached the top in good 3 hours. Nada was quicker, but she took a bit shorter route. On our way back we stopped in Valvasorjev dom pod Stolom mountain hut, 1181 m, for a quick drink and then we descended back to our starting point by the Završnica lake.

Previous hikes: 1st - 12659, 2nd - 13023, 3rd - 13394.

Nada was already at the top of Stol, while we were just passing by the Prešernova koča na Stolu mountain hut, 2174 m. 3 pixels on the picture are Tadej, Rok and me.

4th traditional hike to Stol

In the afternoon Nada and me attended GeoCaching event called "Pozdravimo 2017 - Willkommen 2017" on Stari Ljubelj, so we also hiked there - track. Nada left early, as she headed to Budapest, while I stayed a while and met some new people.
