The idea of
Jurčič's path, which takes hikers from
Višnja Gora to
Muljava, was first born on the 150th anniversary of the birth of the first Slovenian novelist,
Josip Jurčič (4 March 1844 - 3 May 1881). Every year, the land, through which Jurčič's literary hero Deseti Brat (The Tenth Brother - 1866) wandered, invites hikers to a 15 kilometer long trail, where participants are presented with a wonderful natural and rich cultural heritage. This year Nada, Bronco and me joined Nika and her colleagues on their adventure.
The literary path winds its way through beautiful nature, past sights that are forever alive in Jurčič's works.

Late Gothic church dedicated to the Holy Spirit. According to the legend, the church builders started off building this church down in the village, but when they woke up the next day, they found that what they had done, it had been carried to the top of the hill. So they simply finished building the church where it stands today, on the top of the hill. |
