Slovenia: Body Worlds Vital
Body Worlds is a traveling exposition of dissected human bodies that have been preserved through the process of plastination. Gunther von Hagens developed the preservation process which "unites subtle anatomy and modern polymer chemistry" in the late 1970s. The exhibition educates visitors about human health, wellness, and disease. Each body worlds exhibition contains real human specimens, including a series of fascinating whole-body plastinates as well as individual organs, organ configurations, blood vessels and transparent body slices. The production of a human whole body plastinate requires approximately 1500 working hours.
